Apple-Flavoured Water & Hydration Support for Horses

Make the water taste familiar, wherever you go.

AHFS Drink Up! was developed as a convenient, pre-measured water additive for horses, particularly for use when travelling, competing, attending clinics, staying away from home or encountering unfamiliar water.

Water can differ in taste and smell between locations, and some horses may be reluctant to drink unfamiliar water when away from home. Introducing a consistent flavour to water at home before travelling is one practical way of familiarising a horse with that taste.

Drink Up! combines apple flavour with carbohydrate and electrolyte ingredients in an easy-to-use, water-soluble powder.

HOW TO USE

Introduce Drink Up! to your horse’s water at home before travelling, allowing the horse time to become accustomed to the flavour.

When away from home, use the same amount in the horse’s drinking water to provide a consistent, familiar apple taste.

25 g → approximately 20 L fresh water

Mix thoroughly before offering.

Always provide a separate source of plain, clean, fresh water alongside water containing Drink Up!. This is especially important because individual horses may choose not to drink water containing additives.

INGREDIENTS & THEIR INTENDED USE

Dextrose Monohydrate
Included as a readily available carbohydrate source and as part of the product’s palatability system.

Sodium Chloride
A source of the essential minerals sodium and chloride. Sodium and chloride are major minerals required in the equine diet and are among the electrolytes lost in sweat.

Sodium Citrate
Included as an additional dietary source of sodium and for its suitability within the soluble Drink Up! formulation.

Potassium Chloride
A source of potassium and chloride. Potassium is an essential major mineral in the equine diet and is also relevant to the electrolyte intake of working and sweating horses. University of Minnesota Extension

Apple Flavour
Included for palatability and to provide the characteristic, consistent flavour of Drink Up!. The flavour can first be introduced in familiar water at home and then used when travelling.

WHAT DRINK UP! IS — AND ISN’T

Drink Up! has deliberately not been formulated as a replacement for a dedicated electrolyte supplement.

AHFS Drink Up! is a flavoured water additive containing carbohydrate and electrolyte sources.

AHFS Electrocare is AHFS’s dedicated electrolyte supplement.

Horses undertaking strenuous work or experiencing substantial sweat losses may require an appropriate electrolyte programme according to their individual requirements.

SUITABLE FOR

For all classes of horses. Particularly convenient for travelling, shows, clinics, camps, overnight stays, new environments and other occasions where a familiar water flavour may be useful.

FEEDING DIRECTIONS

25 g per approximately 20 L of fresh water.

Mix thoroughly.

Introduce gradually at home before travelling.

Always provide unrestricted access to plain, clean, fresh water alongside supplemented water.
