WE ARE SO EXCITED TO FINALLY RELEASE OUR SECOND AHFS OIL BLEND!

After developing our Summer Shield Oil, we wanted to make another oil — but this time something simple that can be fed every day, to the everyday horse.

And so AHFS DAILY BALANCE OIL was born!

I didn’t want to just bottle one oil and call it a blend. I wanted different oils together, because each one brings something different to the table.

WHAT DID WE PUT IN IT, AND WHY?

LINSEED OIL
This makes up the biggest part of the blend. It’s naturally high in Omega 3 and is fantastic for supporting healthy skin and that lovely shiny coat we all want. It also gives your horse extra calories and energy without having to add more grain.

RICE BRAN OIL
A lovely source of extra energy and naturally provides Omega 6 & 9. Great for horses that could do with a little extra help maintaining condition.

CANOLA OIL
This gives us another mixture of healthy fats and helps us create a much broader Omega 3, 6 & 9 profile instead of relying on only one oil.

BLACK CUMIN SEED OIL 
Now THIS is one of the ingredients I’m particularly excited about!

Black cumin seed oil comes from Nigella sativa seeds and contains a naturally occurring plant compound called thymoquinone.

Don’t worry about remembering the big word 😂 — what makes it interesting is that black cumin seed oil has been researched for its antioxidant and inflammation-supporting properties.

It also provides important fatty acids that can help support healthy skin, coat and general wellbeing.

There is still limited research specifically in horses, so I’m definitely not going to tell you it’s some miracle ingredient. But I really liked what it could bring to the overall blend, which is why we’ve included a smaller amount alongside our other oils.

NATURAL VITAMIN E — MIXED TOCOPHEROLS
Healthy oils are wonderful, but they can also oxidise and go rancid. Our natural mixed tocopherols help protect the oils and keep the blend fresh.

ASCORBYL PALMITATE
Another scary sounding name for something quite simple 😂. It’s an oil-friendly form of Vitamin C that works alongside the Vitamin E to help protect the oils against oxidation.

So what were we trying to achieve?

Something uncomplicated. Something affordable. And something that can become part of your horse’s normal everyday feeding routine.
